Lisa Brittingham Bio

Adjunct Instructor of French

M.A. French, Illinois State University

Qui suis-je?
As a proud alumna of IWU (double major in French and Music), my favorite thing about teaching at IWU is that it's like coming home.  I have so many great memories of my time spent as a student at IWU that I want to make it an equally great experience for my students.

Courses taught:  I have taught Beginning French I and II (101 and 102) as well as Intermediate French I (201).  I taught at IWU for the first time in 2004.

Honor and Awards:  I am a member of Pi Kappa Phi and Pi Delta Phi honorary societies.  In 2002 was awarded the Monserrat Vilarrubla Award for Excellence in Teaching, a graduate student teaching assistant award at Illinois State.

Professional Service:  For many years I have been a reader for the College Board AP French Language and Culture Exam.

Favorite Quote:  Il n'y a vraiment pas de justice!  Believe it or not, this phrase was in a dialogue that I learned in junior high, and I still like to quote it when things just don't seem fair!

Favorite Place:  There's really no place like Paris, especially les pâtisseries!  I love French food!
