Commuter Requests

For students requesting to commute/live locally with parents, the Commuter Approval Form must be completed and returned to ORL.  Starting with the Fall 2025 academic term, students requesting to commute/live locally with parents will need to live within 30 miles of IWU's campus.

Students will complete the Commuter Application, which is available through the student's MyHousing portal.  Approval will be granted on an ongoing basis, beginning in December each year.  Failure to complete an Off-campus request or renewal by the stated deadline will result in a $250 late notification charge.  For students who choose to live off-campus, financial aid is usually limited to tuition and fees.
