I have paid my enrollment deposit. Will the registration date for summer change? Based on CDC recommendations, IWU has determined it is in the best interest of our students to cancel our June Orientation Days and move all first-year student orientation to our Turning Titan program in August. At this time, the August 7, 2020 orientation date for transfer students will continue as planned. Please visit https://iwu.edu/orientation/titan/schedule.html for the most up to date information.
Will the May 1 deadline for my enrollment decision continue?

We want to ensure that you have the time you need to make the decision that’s right for you and will be extending the deadline to July 1. You can make your enrollment decision anytime before July and once you do so, you’ll be contacted about next steps regarding housing and summer registration. If you have any questions about your enrollment fee, you can contact your admissions counselor or gking@iwu.edu .

Will there be an extension for final transcripts?

We will be flexible and work closely with you and your institution to ensure we have the documents we need without creating additional stress.

When will I register for classes?

Registration for fall courses will take place during Turning Titan orientation, which begins on Tuesday, August 18 and goes through Sunday, August 23.

For Prospective Students

Will this affect the timing of admission notification?

No. As of now, this does not change our plans for any admissions decisions. We are evaluating applications as usual.

I am trying to apply, but my high school is closed and I won’t be able to submit my transcripts.

We understand this difficulty and will be making admissions decisions on self-reported grades and test scores until schools re-open. If you are accepted without official transcripts, those will need to be provided before you begin classes in the fall.

Will there be an application deadline extension?

We will work with all our students to alleviate stress and will extend application deadlines as necessary. If you are interested in applying, go ahead and fill out the application at your earliest convenience and we’ll collect transcripts and test scores once schools re-open.

For International Students

When will I get my I-20? Once you submit your enrollment deposit, we will send an email outlining the next steps and required documentation for the I-20. The form must be submitted before we can begin processing your I-20. Once we have received that, we will issue the I-20 as quickly as possible.
Will I be able to get into the United States to begin classes?

IWU welcomes students from around the world. We are closely monitoring the situation and will adhere to any decisions made by the US government. Contact Emily Shankar (eshankar@iwu.edu) with any questions specific questions or concerns.

If I am unable to get into the United States by August, can I defer my admission? Yes, if you are unable to get into the United States by August you can defer your admission to Spring 2021 or Fall 2021. We will defer your admission and scholarship offer as well as update your I-20.
