The International Office serves to support and promote the University’s mission statement and the General Education Global Diversity goal and to enhance the overall internationalization of the campus and the student experience.

In this role, the Office has two primary functions:

(1) providing assistance for  international students and scholars

(2) administering the universities semester-long, full year, and summer  study abroad programs  (short-term study abroad programs are managed by the May Term Office).

In keeping with the Illinois Wesleyan mission, the International Office, through its services and programs, seeks to develop students' ability to understand and analyze contemporary societies outside the U.S.; enable students to understand their own identity and culture and be sensitive to commonalities and differences among and within cultures; help students deepen and broaden their disciplinary knowledge through study abroad; and prepare students for responsible citizenship in a global community.
