The Phi Gamma Delta pledge program is designed to expose young men of Illinois Wesleyan to the ideals and values which constitute FIJI Brotherhood. This includes an educational program as well as non-alcoholic activities and events that will help build friendships among members of the pledge class, as well as with the active brothers of the fraternity.

The education program consists of an 8-week process of learning Fraternity history, chapter operation and personal development. Meetings are held weekly and are taught by graduate brothers in the local area.

Pledges learn from the "Purple Pilgrim," our source for the Fraternity's history, characteristics and values.

Pledges are required to achieve a 2.50 cumulative GPA in order to be initiated, although 3.0 or greater is preferred to pledge. The Alpha Deuteron chapter offers a $750 scholarship for pledges who obtain a 3.20 or greater during their pledge semester. We intend to have the highest academic rank among all campus organizations.

There is no hazing allowed in Phi Gamma Delta at any time, for pledges or brothers.

The Alpha Deuteron Chapter is the eleventh chapter of Phi Gamma Delta. It was the first fraternity founded at Illinois Wesleyan University, dating back to December 4th, 1866.
