Leadership Training

Leadership development is one of the core values and benefits of being a member of a fraternity or sorority. As a community, we offer multiple opportunities for our members to grow as leaders. These activities and events are coordinated by the Director of Leadership Development on the Fraternity & Sorority Programming Board, a shared organization between the governing councils within our community, as well as through the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life. Additionally, we actively promote participation by our members in the various leadership development opportunities available on campus. Regardless of if a student has a title or not, we want all our chapter members to act as leaders and to have the skills needed to do so.

The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life hosts this workshop for all council executive board members at the beginning of the spring semester. Students participate in a wide variety of activities such as identifying their leadership style, values exploration exercises, diversity awareness activities, goal setting for the upcoming year. The FSCoL workshop sets the tone for the council officer's term and is the catalyst for relationship building between council leadership.
