FAQs

IF I AM AN UPPER-DIVISION STUDENT, CAN I STILL GO THROUGH RECRUITMENT?

We encourage anyone who is interested in the recruitment process to go through recruitment and see if it is the right fit for them!

HOW MUCH TIME DOES BEING IN A SORORITY TAKE?

There is a required meeting each week where sorority women exchange information on chapter events and fraternity education. Weekly chapter study hours are programming options for members, in addition to events like sisterhood activities, service projects, and social events.

WILL BEING IN A SORORITY AFFECT MY GRADES NEGATIVELY?

The Panhellenic Council, as well as each individual chapter strives to put academics first. Chapters individually encourage strong academics by putting scholarship programs in place that encourage study hours, hold study tables, provide tutors and study tips, and much more.

HOW LONG IS THE NEW MEMBER PERIOD?

The new member period for each chapter varies, but is usually between six to eight weeks.

DO I NEED TO ATTEND ALL RECRUITMENT EVENTS?

All formal recruitment events are mandatory. Pre-recruitment events are optional however we strongly encourage all women interested in recruitment to attend.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO MISS A ROUND/NIGHT OF RECRUITMENT?

The Panhellenic community understands that there are some unavoidable excuses for missing recruitment activities sch as: class, sports games/practice, religious observations, academic & family trips, weddings, and illness. Work and participation in other extracurricular activities other than those listed above are not excused absences. If you know will be missing a night or round of recruitment, you MUST complete the Recruitment Absentee Form PRIOR to Chapter Tour Night. If emergencies come up, please let your recrutiment counselor know as soon as possible that you will be missing to avoid being released from the process.

WHAT IS THE LATE ENTRY POLICY?

For all rounds, CPH has instituted a uniform late entry policy. There will be one (1) late entry time, which will be 15-minutes after the beginning of a round. At this time, all PNMs arriving late will be allow to enter. Any PNM arriving after this late entry time, will not be able to attend that round. NO EXCEPTIONS.

IS THERE A SPRING RECRUITMENT?

Some chapters may have an opportunity to recruit after formal recruitment/in the spring semester based on their chapter size however there is no guarantee chapters will have vacancies after the fall formal recruitment process.
