Internships

Joe Ruskey '15Student Internship Spotlight

Joe Ruskey ’15

Joe has completed multiple internships in marketing, public affairs and promotions. These include:

  • McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office
  • Advocate Healthcare
  • Sodexo
  • McLean County Museum of History

As an intern at the museum, Joe noticed college students were not regular patrons. Using social media and traditional media outlets, he planned and executed a special event, “A Date With the Museum,” to introduce local college students to the museum. Nearly 60 students attended and explored the galleries, prompting museum officials to hail the event as a success.

“We are very proud of Joe for pulling off this event,” said Beth Whisman, the museum's director of development. “He learned some important lessons, gained hands-on experience and added a unique event to his resume.”
