EDUC 360 - Curriculum and Pedagogy in English and Second Language
Curriculum development, pedagogical theory and practice in middle and high schools specific to literature, culture, and written and oral communication in English and second languages. Curriculum planning, instructional strategies, assessment, and creating positive learning environments responsive to the individual needs and abilities of all students. 4 semester hours. EDUC 361 - Curriculum & Pedagogy in Grades 5-12 Social Studies
Curriculum development, pedagogical theory, and practice in middle and high schools specific to social science with an emphasis on history, including teaching with primary sources. Curriculum planning, instructional strategies, assessment, and creating positive learning environments responsive to the individual needs and abilities of all students. 4 semester hours. EDUC 362 - Curriculum and Pedagogy in Grades 5-12 Mathematics
Curriculum development and pedagogical theory and practice in middle and high schools specific to mathematics, emphasizing mathematical reasoning and problem solving, multiple representations, and technology integration from a constructivist perspective. Curriculum planning, implementation, assessment, and creating positive learning environments responsive to the individual needs and abilities of all students. 4 semester hours. Curriculum development, pedagogical theory and practice in PK-12 schools specific to physical education. Curriculum planning, assessment, technology integration, and creating positive learning environments responsive to the individual needs and abilities of all students, including those with diverse physical capabilities. 4 semester hours. EDUC 372 - Cross-Cultural Studies Involving Multilingual Learners
Exploration of theories, research, and practices in English as a Second Language (ESL) and bilingual education, highlighting how instructional design and assessment support culturally and linguistically diverse learners. Priority is given to designing, implementing, and evaluating instructions and assessments across sociocultural contexts, including fieldwork in content-area classrooms with multilingual learners. 4 Semester Hours. Open to students from any discipline.
