Jazz Ensemble

The Illinois Wesleyan University Jazz Ensemble is a versatile group that’s performs all styles of jazz from swing and bebop to contemporary fusion, Latin grooves, funk, blues, and original student arrangements. Under Dr. Reginald Lewis, the ensemble combines musical excellence with creativity and community engagement.

 The ensemble performs regularly on campus and throughout the community, including a beloved

 annual Halloween Concert. They also travel to local high schools to inspire young musicians through performances and clinics and participate in regional festivals and competitions.

 The IWU Jazz Ensemble is more than a band, it’s a celebration of jazz, a training ground for future artists, and a bridge connecting the University with the wider community.
