Activating Your IWU Account

Before accessing MyIWU and your IWU email account, you will need to activate your IWU account, set up Duo multi-factor authentication (MFA), and create a new password.

1. Locate Your IWU Credentials

Your Welcome Letter contains the information you will need to activate your account:

NetID (username)
IWU email address
Assigned password
Student ID number

Keep your Welcome Letter available while completing the remaining steps.

2. Sign In to Passchange

Go to passchange.iwu.edu in your preferred web browser.

3. Set Up Duo Mobile MFA

All IWU campus accounts are required to use Duo multi-factor authentication (MFA). During the account activation process, you will be prompted to enroll in Duo. Download the Duo Mobile app from your phone's app store and follow the prompts to connect Duo Mobile to your IWU account.

4. Create Your New Password

After Duo MFA has been set up and your login has been authenticated, you will be returned to Passchange.

Follow the prompts to create a new password for your IWU account.

Password Requirements

Your new password must:

Be at least 15 characters long
Include at least one uppercase letter
Include at least one lowercase letter
Include at least one number
Include at least one special character

Do not use your first or last name or IWU-related terms such as IWU or Titan in your password.

5. Sign In to MyIWU

After you receive confirmation that your password was updated successfully, close the Passchange window.

Go to my.iwu.edu and sign in using the Current student, faculty, staff option.

Use your IWU account and your newly created password to sign in.
