How Do Alumni Reset a Password?

This password reset option is for alumni accounts only.

Alumni who have previously registered for Microsoft Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) can reset a forgotten IWU password without contacting ITS. Registration must be completed in advance with assistance from ITS.

If you have not registered for Self-Service Password Reset, contact the ITS Service Desk to have your password reset:

If you have already registered for Microsoft Self-Service Password Reset:

  1. Go to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/

  2. Enter your full IWU email address and the characters shown on the screen.

     

  3. Select Next.

  4. Complete the verification steps. The verification method will depend on the options you set up when you registered.

  5. Create a new password that meets the IWU password requirements.

Password Requirements

Your new password must:

  • Be at least 15 characters long

  • Include at least one uppercase letter

  • Include at least one lowercase letter

  • Include at least one number

  • Include at least one special character, such as !, $, or &

  • Not include personal or IWU-related information such as your name, NetID, IWU, or Titan

  • Not be a previously used or commonly used password
