Bio
Leigh Moon is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Illinois Wesleyan University, where she teaches courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, and data analytics. She is a registered Certified Public Accountant (Illinois), Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified Internal Auditor with extensive professional experience in internal auditing, public accounting, and corporate accounting.
Professor Moon’s research interests include accounting pedagogy, technology in the classroom, and internal auditing practices. Her recent scholarship has been published in the International Journal of Business Communication and the Muma Business Review. She is also an active presenter at conferences, including the MBAA International Conference, the American Accounting Association, and NACRA.
At Illinois Wesleyan, she serves on several university committees and advises the Accounting Society student organization. Beyond campus, she contributes to the discipline as a board member of the North American Accounting Society, a certification officer for the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Central Illinois Chapter, and a peer reviewer for academic conferences.
