Started in 2012, GivingTuesday is a global movement that encourages people to pay it forward through kindness and generosity. It is built on the foundational belief that our every-day, small actions make a difference and build a better future for all.

Every GivingTuesday Illinois Wesleyan University invites our alumni, parents, students, and friends to participate in those actions of generosity and kindness to pay it forward through scholarship, academic, and programatic support. We frequently harken back to Minor Myers jr.'s encouragement for all Titans to "Go into the world and Do Well. But more importantly, Do Good."

What impact can you have this GivingTuesday?

1. The Wesleyan Fund

Gifts to the Wesleyan Fund have an immediate impact on student engagement, faculty resources, and program success. Every year, thousands of alumni, parents, and friends make a difference on IWU's campus with their generosity through the Wesleyan Fund.

2. Giving Circle Scholarships

Giving Circles are a unique opportunity for alumni, parens, and friends to raise scholarship support for students of specific interests. From honoring fraternity and soritity life, to memorializing facutly, to encouraging academic camaraderie, each Giving Circle provides valuable scholarship support for bright and deserving students. Every gift made on GivingTuesday counts toward our capital campaign: Honor the Past, Shape the Future™.  Gifts made during this campaign support student success, experiential learning, and entrepreneurship. They provide faculty with resources for academic excellence and professional development. And they ensure our campus and classrooms have the technology and and collaborative capabilities necessary for our current and future students.

• When is GivingTuesday?
  GivingTuesday is celebrated every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
• How can I make a gift on GivingTuesday?
  You can make a gift online at iwu.mobi/domore . You can also give via phone at 309-556-3091 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
• Can I designate a gift to a specific program on GivingTuesday?
  Yes! Here’s how:
  • On the giving form, there is a “Designation” field after you enter the amount of your donation.
  • Choose from a drop down list of options, or choose “write in my designation.”
  • Select “write in my designation,”  and another field will appear where you can type in what you would like your donation to support, like academic department, sports team, scholarship, etc.
• Can I allocate my donations to more than one program (split my gift)?
  Absolutely! You can allocate their gift up to three unique designations online. They will follow the same steps as above.
