Crisis Calls and Emergencies
Defining Emergency Appointments: "Crisis" refers to immediate, life-threatening situations, while "urgent" pertains to situations that require prompt attention but are not life-threatening. Crisis situations typically involve thoughts of self-harm, harm to others, or extreme psychological distress. Urgent situations involve severe or worsening mental health symptoms that, while significant, do not require immediate hospitalization or an emergency department visit.
