Tribute to Steve Seibring

To the Titan Community,

The people of Illinois Wesleyan are among our great traditions — in particular those who come to Illinois Wesleyan, fall in love and stay here, helping us grow and evolve through decades of continuity and change.

Steve Seibring first came to Illinois Wesleyan as a student in 1977, graduating in 1981, then returning as an employee in 1991. After 35 years of distinguished service in various roles in the Advancement and Alumni Office, Steve is retiring this year. 

"Steve is genuine in his love for people — especially Titans — and he puts his love in action," President Sheahon Zenger said. "He has devoted his career to serving the needs of this University." 

Steve was instrumental in the success of our Transforming Lives Campaign under President Dick Wilson, which far surpassed its fundraising goals in a time of economic upheaval. Through the years, Steve has continued to support ongoing goals and new initiatives at the University. We are immensely grateful for his dedication to Illinois Wesleyan and the relationships he has built, connecting our Titan family. 

"I've never been more optimistic about the future of Illinois Wesleyan," Steve told us in announcing his decision to retire. "The entire leadership team is as strong as I've ever seen in my time here, and gives me great confidence in the next chapter for IWU."
