Rules of Play

• Tees
  • Play from the BLACK tees.
  • Female golfers may play from the BLUE tees.
  • 65+ older golfers may play from the GREEN tees. 
• A scramble means that all team members tee off on each hole and then decide which tee shot they like the best and mark the spot with a tee or ball marker.
• The other team members pick up their balls and place them within one club length (no closer to the hole) of the marked spot. Each team member hits their next shot from the chosen spot of the prior shot.
• If the ball you choose to play is in a hazard (sand, water, etc.), the rough, or out of bounds, you cannot drop the ball outside of the hazard or rough even if relief is within one club length away.
• This procedure is followed on every shot for the remainder of the hole, including putts. The ball should also be marked on the putting green.
• Prizes will be awarded for the Top 3 Foursomes’ 18 Hole Scores. Ties will be scorecard playoff - working back from #18.

Contests

• Putting Green - Putting Contest: At the Putting Green, during your round or prior to the start of competition, you may enter a putting contest. Players will compete for a Staff Model TG Wedge (valued at $139.99).  It will cost $5 for one putt or $15 for four putts. At the conclusion of the day, IWU will announce winners and host a putt off if more than 6 players are tied.
• Hole # 7 - Closest to the Pin: Whichever golfer can put their ball on the green closest to the hole wins.
• Hole #11 - Longest Drive: The golfer who hits the ball the farthest on hole 11 wins.
• Hole #18 - Longest Putt: The player who makes the longest putt on hole 18 wins.

Extras

• String It Out: Purchase string for $10 per foot. The string can be used at any time during the round by a player who wants to improve their lie by allowing players to pick up and move their ball in any direction without losing a stroke, as long as it is no further than the length of that string. Each time you use your string, you must cut off the amount of string corresponding to the distance your ball was moved. For example: Move your ball 15 inches to get out of a bunker , cut 15 inches off your string. A ball can be moved out of any hazard other than a water hazard.
• 50/50 Raffle: Participants can purchase tickets at the clubhouse for a chance to win half the pot if their name is drawn. Proceeds benefit The Wesleyan Fund. Buy five tickets for $10 or an arm's length (20 tickets) for $25.
• Foursome Photo: We will take a photo of your foursome while waiting to tee off on #1 at the Putting Green. Photos will be available following the event.
• Complimentary Beverages: Thank you to Bill Havle ‘93 and Constellation Brands for sponsoring our Beverage Carts! Corona and Modelo on our Beverage Carts are complimentary. All other drinks will be available for purchase.
