Heartland to Illinois Wesleyan University

Heartland Community College students are guaranteed admission to Illinois Wesleyan University under the following criteria:

IWU will guarantee the acceptance of all transferable credits earned from the HCC transfer-oriented degree program and no distinction will be made by IWU between the completion of these courses and those offered at Illinois Wesleyan University.
Students may have to take additional prerequisite course requirements specific to certain majors.
Students who complete the HCC transfer-oriented degree program with a 3.0 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale and submit an official transcript from HCC are eligible for guaranteed admission.

* Art - BFA in Graphic Design - A portfolio is required as part of the application process for this major. Students should contact IWUadmit@iwu.edu for more information.

** Nursing - Admission to the Nursing major is limited and completion of this plan does not guarantee admission to the School of Nursing. If space allows, accepted transfer students who completed the articulation plan would begin the nursing sequence in semester 3. Contact IWUadmit@iwu.edu to inquire about the application process for Nursing majors.

A member of the nationally recognized College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, IWU offers both women and men 11 NCAA Division III sports. Titan athltics has a strong commitment to excellence in Academics, Athletics and Service to others.
For students whose academic and athletic interests overlap, IWU has a major in Kinesiology and Allied Health and minors in Coaching, Exercise Science, Physical Education, and Sports Management.
Illinois Wesleyan students have access to a host of special opportunities and spaces including Eckley Fellowships, numerous entrepreneurship competitions, and the Greg Yess ’82 Bloomberg Finance Lab.
