Here, you'll find an overview of the various programs and initiatives led by our dedicated Student Senate to enhance the student experience and promote positive change on campus. Each of our commissioners is responsible for developing experiences in alignment with each of their areas: Advocacy and Awareness, Civic Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion, and Sustainability.

Advocacy and Awareness

Student Senate works to amplify student voices, address their concerns, and advocate for positive change. These initiatives also focus on raising awareness about important social issues and creating a platform for open dialogue, encouraging students to actively engage in discussion, broaden their perspectives, and become informed advocates. Sit Down with Senate: This was a homegrown series of dialogues centered around each commissioner's area. The purpose of this initiative was to engage in productive conversations with members of the IWU community (faculty, staff, campus & community stakeholders) to discuss the important issues facing our lives today.
