BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — A $1 million matching gift is in play today during All In for Wesleyan, Illinois Wesleyan University’s ninth annual day of giving.

President S. Georgia Nugent announced the challenge early this morning: “I was elated when an anonymous Illinois Wesleyan alumnus came forth and surprised IWU with a remarkable, first of its kind, challenge: If the Titan Community raises $1 million collectively by midnight tonight, this generous alum will match those contributions with an extraordinary gift of $1 million.”

Nugent continued, “Alumni, parents, and friends of Illinois Wesleyan, let’s come together and rise to this challenge. Together, we can do this.”

All In for Wesleyan is a 24-hour campaign dedicated to supporting Illinois Wesleyan students and their academic goal of becoming IWU graduates. Last year, 2,122 donors raised a record-breaking $1,007,555.

Contributions can be made via the All In for Wesleyan website, which went live at midnight: www.iwu.edu/all-in . In addition to demonstrating their financial support, alumni and friends of the University are also encouraged to show their Titan pride on social media using the hashtag #AllInForWesleyan.

During this day of school spirit, students are invited to participate in a variety of free All In for Wesleyan events, including grab-and-go doughnuts (7:30 - 9:30 a.m., Hansen, CNS, Eckley Lounge), succulent planting (11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Joslin tent — quad), Kona Ice Truck snow cones (1 - 4 p.m., between the Memorial Center and Gulick), and virtual Titan trivia (7 p.m., via Zoom).
