Minor Myers Jr. Honors Collection

The Bates & Merwin Reading Room is considered the crown jewel of The Ames Library. Located on the fourth floor, the Reading Room houses a truly distinctive collection honoring Minor Myers jr., Illinois Wesleyan University’s 17th president. President Myers provided the vision and leadership necessary to build The Ames Library, so to pay tribute to his dedication to Illinois Wesleyan University and his love for books, this growing collection comprises books that received honors throughout the world and includes award-winning books in the areas of art, cooking, fiction, history, poetry, science, among many others. 

In addition to browsing the collection, arranged alphabetically by the awards title, you may locate titles in the Minor Myers jr Honors Collection in the library’s online catalog by searching for the phrase "Minor Myers jr. Honors Collection" as a keyword. Books from the Minor Myers jr. Honors Collection may be checked out from the library by all patrons for the standard 28-day loan period, with the option of one renewal period.

Due to the selective nature of the collection we will not be able to accept gifts in the form of books.
