Ryan Beaupre"Captain Ryan A. Beaupre ’95  (pictured) was an accounting major, a member of Sigma Pi, and a track and cross country athlete during his time at Illinois Wesleyan University. Ryan was one of the first people I met at orientation the summer before freshman year and that friendship carried through four years and beyond. Beaup was someone who chose to do the right thing every time. He treated everyone thoughtfully and was beloved on campus by students and staff alike. Ryan worked hard and earned all of his achievements. After earning a coveted position at State Farm, Ryan knew he wanted more. So we ran and worked out together to prepare for the Marines' physical exam. Ryan was the perfect man for the job: a selfless, goal-driven, leader whose legacy will live on through everyone who interacted with him.

On March 20, 2003 Beaupre became one of America’s first casualties in the Iraq War. He was piloting a CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter when his helicopter crashed in the Kuwaiti desert, taking eight lives. A beloved member of the Titan community, Ryan’s class members and family established the Captain Ryan A. Beaupre ’95 5K which was a staple at IWU Homecoming from 2003-2013. This year, in honor of his 25th reunion from Illinois Wesleyan, the class of 1995 has brought this event back in the virtual setting. Kick-start your Saturday morning right by walking or running for Ryan." #RunforRyan  - Chris Wolf '95
