Theresa Ward '15Student Spotlight

Theresa (Tessy) Ward ’15

Thanks to a requirement through her study abroad scholarship, Tessy used her writing skills to document her observations of life in New Zealand in daily posts to a poetry blog.

“I became more ambitious after studying abroad,” Tessy said. “Now I seize the opportunity to go out of my comfort zone and find the next daring adventure.”

This ambition served Tessy well when she held two internships simultaneously during the summer of 2014. At the McLean County Arts Center, she helped design labels and brochures, as well as planned art shows, festivals and other events at the center. At Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, she wrote press releases and feature stories for Health eNews.

“My internships increased my social skills and my ability to write for a variety of printed material,” she said.
