Step 1: Choose Your Application

We accept the Common Application or the Titan Application, both available August 1. IWU does not charge an application fee and is test-optional.

Step 2: Submit Your Materials

In addition to your application, you'll need to send us:

• your school transcripts, showing your complete coursework and any courses in progress

Transcripts are typically shared electronically via your school counselor, and can be e-mailed or mailed if needed. Unofficial transcripts are accepted.

Optional supplemental items can be uploaded through your applicant status portal, available after your application has been submitted.

Test-Optional Admissions

Illinois Wesleyan does not require ACT or SAT scores for admission or scholarship consideration. If you feel your scores will strengthen your application, you are welcome to submit them.

Additional Requirements for Select Programs:

• School of Art: Applicants to the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in the Ames School of Art & Design must submit a portfolio for admission and art scholarship consideration. 
• School of Music: Applicants planning to major in music must complete a live or virtual audition for admission to the School of Music and for talent scholarship consideration. 
• School of Nursing: Nursing applicants must have successfully completed high school Algebra, Geometry, Chemistry, and Biology to be considered for admission to the School of Nursing & Health Sciences.
• School of Theatre Arts: Applicants to the School of Theatre Arts complete an audition, interview, and/or portfolio review, depending on their intended theatre major, as part of the admission process.

 

Admissions Criteria:

We review your academic record within the context of your school and personal circumstances. We recommend:

• Fifteen academic units within the areas of English, mathematics, natural sciences, social science, and world language.
• A cumulative grade-point average of a B or higher.

 

Step 3: Track Your Application

Once you've submitted your application, keep an eye on what materials we've received and track the status of your application in your applicant status portal.
