Staff Recognition

Staff Council is piloting a program to highlight staff accomplishments.  If you wish to share your achievements and milestones, please submit them using this form.  Staff Council reserves the right to review and revise the information submitted before publication.  Submissions will be featured for several months before being moved to an archive.

 

May 2018

Gary Schwartz recently completed the design of the 100th issue of IWU Magazine. He has designed every issue since the publication started in 1992. The magazine has won several awards including a CASE V Gold Award for Best Alumni Magazine in 2006. The current issue is the third redesign of the publication.

March 2018

Anna Bromaghim received the Outstanding New Conference and Events Professional Award from the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors - International (ACCED-I). The award was presented at the association's Annual Conference in Minneapolis on March 19, 2018 and is presented once a year to one professional who has been in the industry less than 3 years.

February 2018

Brandon Common, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs, provided the Keynote at the Student Affairs 101 Conference at Illinois State University. The purpose of this conference is to introduce aspiring student affairs professionals to the field through workshops, panels, and other educational means.

April 2017

Warren Kistner, Director of the Hart Career Center, was voted as the 2017 Staff Member of the Year by the student body.

 March 2017

Dennis DeLong and Troy Steidinger from the IWU Heat Plant received the Certified Pool Operator (CPO®) Certification as taught through the National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF®). This Certification empowers individuals with the basic knowledge, techniques and skills of pool operations. This Certification was completed in March, 2017.  (Information submitted by Jim Blumberg, Physical Plant Director)

January 2017

Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Karla Carney-Hall and Associate Vice President for Institutional Research, Planning & Evaluation Michael Thompson presented "The Experience of Today's IWU Women" at the Morton, IL chapter of the American Association of University Women, Tuesday, January 10th, 2017.
