African Student Association

The African Student Association strives to provide a definite unification of the African Students at Illinois Wesleyan University whilst creating awareness of diverse issues affecting the African continent. The African Student Association seeks to promote both cultural and social awareness of the African continent through the participation and organization of activities pertaining to Africa.

Amnesty International

Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights. AI’s vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards. In pursuit of this vision, AI’s mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights. International Society

The purpose of the International Society of Illinois Wesleyan University is to promote cultural awareness on the IWU campus, to bring together students of different ethnicities, and to encourage studying abroad.

Model UN

The Model United Nations (MUN) is an all-collegiate organization centered on the public debate of international affairs. This organization allows students from multiple majors to become involved in a large-scale simulation of the United Nations General Assembly. During this Conference, usually held in Saint Louis, MO, participants represent the role of another nation's delegation to the United Nations. This experience provides first-hand knowledge of the difficulties and complexities of real-life international relations. By taking the learning experience outside of the classroom and working with other universities, students enjoy a unique experience.

South Asian Student Association

The purpose of the South Asian Student Association is to promote awareness about the South Asian culture throughout the campus. The goals of this organization are to educate and expose the Illinois Wesleyan community to various aspects of South Asian culture; including observation of holidays, current events, history, and other cultural activities. These goals are achieved through numerous activities that celebrate this unique group. The culmination of these activities is the annual cultural show that highlights the talents of the club members.
