Transfer Applicant Guidelines
Applicants should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 and be in good standing at their previous college or university. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended to be most competitive.
A minimum number of credits are not required in order to transfer. However, no more than 50% of a major or minor may be taken elsewhere. All degree candidates must complete a minimum of 16 courses (2 years) at Illinois Wesleyan.
If you are a returning student seeking re-admission, please contact the Office of the Registrar.

Will My Credits Transfer?
Illinois Wesleyan participates in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), so if you complete an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree and the General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) at a regionally accredited Illinois community college, that package will satisfy IWU’s general education requirements. This allows you to focus on your major, graduation, and shared curriculum requirements.
