Study Abroad

For students interested in studying abroad or off-campus study, the recommended semesters are: spring, second year or fall, third year.

Additional Information
  • Students interested in majoring or minoring in Sociology are strongly encouraged to take an introductory level course (SOC 101 or 120, but not both; only one 100 level course counts toward the major and minor) either the first or second semester of the first year.
  • It is recommended that students interested in exploring a career in Social Work take SOC 240 (offered annually in the Fall) prior to SOC 362 (offered annually in the Spring) and SOC 270/370 Social Work in Action (offered annually in May Term).
