Exempt staff: Employees receive four weeks of paid vacation per year. (Vacation is prorated for
employees working less than 12 months per year.) See the updated policy on Exempt Staff Vacation Time Accrual.
Nonexempt staff: Employees accrue vacation each pay period at the rate of two weeks of paid vacation per year, three weeks after completing four years of service, and four weeks after completing fourteen years of service. (Vacation is prorated for employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week and/or less than 12 months per year.)
Each employee receives two personal days each year. (Nonexempt Physical Plant staff receive seven additional personal days in lieu of the ability to work 37.5 hours/week. This amount is prorated for Physical Plant employees hired after the beginning of the fiscal year.)
Each employee accumulates sick time at the rate of one working day for each month of service. Effective Sept. 1, 2020, unused sick time may be accumulated to a maximum of 30 days. See the updated policy.
Exempt Leave Reporting
Exempt Staff, 12-month Faculty and eligible Instructional Staff report leave (sick, personal, vacation or other time used) through Employee Self-Service.
* The leave reporting period is from the first day of the month through the last day
of the month.
* Reporting for each month is due from the employee by the 5th of the following month.
* Supervisors approve the leave report by the 10th of the month.
