Security Analyst I
Provides security related services to campus, including tier 1 customer service, monitoring of IT systems, and assisting with cybersecurity training/education programs. Responsibilities:
- Actively monitor campus monitoring for security events and remediate; monitor for security events related to authentication, end point protection, network activity and campus servers; analyze and respond to any alerts raised by monitoring system or detected by monitoring; Respond to and remediate automated alerts regarding campus SOC service; Provide tier 1 response for security related tickets and events
- Assist with user training and security testing; provide initial point of contact for questions regarding training, issues, or general security; escalate priority tickets to senior analysts
- Support University IT compliance needs; perform periodic vulnerability scanning of internal systems; assist in annual risk assessments and penetration testing
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field; three years of IT security experience may substitute for education
- Knowledge of security best practices including Federal and State requirements and standards
- Industry standard security certifications is a plus
- On-call for emergencies, including critical security events
