Part-time Licensed Clinical Counselor
This position is responsible for providing brief, focused, and evidence-based individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention and management. Supports faculty and staff in student facing endeavors including retention efforts. This is an on-campus, part time position; (24 hours/week), 9 months/year (Aug 1-May 1)
Responsibilities:
- Direct Care; conducts intake interviews with students and determines appropriate disposition for services; provides evidence-based individual counseling to college students using a time-limited therapy model; facilitates group counseling services including interpersonal process groups and psychoeducational groups on various topics (e.g., DBT skills and anxiety); provides crisis intervention and management to students presenting in crisis
- Documentation; document all services provided in an electronic mental health record; referral/support documentation, as need
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in related field required; Counseling, Social Work, Psychology
- Minimum of three years experience
- Unencumbered Illinois professional license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or other related independent mental health practitioner license from the state of Illinois OR eligible as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or other related independent mental health practitioner license in the state of Illinois within 12-months of hire.
- Well-developed therapy skills, crisis intervention and management skills, diagnosing and treating mental health disorders using evidence-based interventions, engaging college students in a therapeutic relationship, implementing interpersonal skills and conflict resolution, and developing and providing outreach and community programs.
