Director of Enterprise Systems
The Director of Enterprise Systems is responsible for the planning, development, testing, integration and maintenance of software and interfaces that enhance the University’s ERP system and third-party administrative systems. This position will lead strategic modernization efforts as we transition to a next-generation ERP platform. The Director leads a team of analysts responsible for designing and implementing solutions such as reports and dashboards. These solutions will focus on meeting IWU operational needs for accurate and timely access to institutional data. While the position is intended to be on-campus, remote work within approved states and quarterly travel to campus, may be considered. Responsibilities:
- Lead ERP Operations; planning, development, testing, integration and maintenance of the ERP system; spearhead ERP and reporting system modernization projects
- Manage the University’s business intelligence and data analysis needs; oversee IWU’s data mart, data warehouse and reporting platform; role involves tasks such as ETL, data modeling, development of dashboards and reports, needs analysis, testing, quality assurance, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Lead, support and develop a team of analysts; set performance standards and measures; provide appropriate levels of training, mentoring, and professional development; foster a strong sense of shared accountability and cross-functional communication and collaboration
- Promote principles of sound data governance as co-chair of IWU Data Governance committee; serve as a key resource for ITS and the campus in terms of best practices in data governance such as data ownership, data access, data reporting, data definitions, data usage, data privacy; assign access to enterprise systems based on the principles of need-to-know and least privilege; report any real or potential risk or threat to the security of campus devices, applications, or data to the appropriate stakeholders
- Stakeholder engagement; actively involve stakeholders to gather input, address concerns, and build support for a common goal; actively participate in consortiums and industry groups
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
- Minimum of eight years’ related experience; leading administrative systems teams in higher education; database administration; ERP administration
- Knowledge of database query languages (such as PL-SQL), scripting experience, direct experience administering ERP and reporting platforms such as Ellucian Banner and Evisions Argos
Preferred:
- Project and change management experience
- Leadership experience in ERP modernization or ERP replacement projects
