Assistant Director of Athletic Communications
The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications supports student-athletes in recognizing their accomplishments by creating content for parents, alumni, faculty, staff, fans and friends of the University. To support in-game statistics for the Titan athletic program as required by the NCAA. Serve as a role model/mentor to those students interested in athletic communications. This is a full time, 12 month, on-campus position. Generous benefits include health, retirement, considerable time off and access to multiple tuition programs for self and dependents.
Responsibilities:
- Gameday Coverage; maintain statistics for various supports as required by NCAA and CCIW; manage and oversee student workers; manage external media personnel at assigned events; create gameday programs for assigned sports for distribution to fans and media personnel
- Recruiting; create recruiting brochures for all 29 sports; coordinate recruiting activities with coaches; create social media posts; create individualized promotional materials for use throughout the recruiting process
- Content Creation and Website Management; produce graphics and videos for iwusports.com; mentor student workers through experiential learning opportunities; implement content strategies across several mediums; assist in updating, creating content and day-to-day maintenance of iwusports.com;
- Social Media Management & Marketing; manage departmental social media accounts and create content plans; oversee social media postings to ensure NCAA compliance
- University Communications; assist in athletics coverage with IWU magazine; collaborate with University Communications regarding athletic related stories and special projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s required
- Minimum of three years related experience; experience with sidearm web, genius sports stats, statcrew, adobe suite software and other computer programs.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules, sport rules, CCIW rules and institutional policies.
- Travel with teams for regular and postseason competition. Weekend and evening hours, as needed
