Digital Content Manager
This role holds the University's primary responsibility for creating and managing content on the entire flagship website. Works to ensure compelling and accurate information about University programs and services, with the primary purpose of driving student recruitment and upholding the institution’s brand to worldwide audiences. Guides website strategy and related communication efforts across university departments, leading joint projects in collaboration with marketing, admissions and academic departments, and supporting special initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and manage website content to compellingly represent Illinois Wesleyan University; collaborate with departments to identify & communicate distinctive features of IWU programs and opportunities; ensure website content is timely, relevant, visually appealing and adheres to best practices; provide project management for website initiatives
- Oversee and support the work of distributed content contributors; train and support faculty, staff and student web content contributors; govern contributors’ web editing access; screen user’s website content before publication to ensure accessibility compliance, SEO optimization, IWU brand messaging and visuals; manage university’s third-party blog content platforms; govern user access, branding standards, and site creation guidelines
- Manage primary website’s google search console, google tags, google analytics and programmable search engine; analyze and compile ongoing reports of website and digital campaign performance data to advise the work of marketing and admissions teams; maintain website search engine to improve relevant and helpful searches within the domain; monitor IWU website’s presence in search engine results; create and monitor tracking lists for campaigns; optimize targeted content
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s required in related field of study; English, Communications, Marketing
- Minimum of three years experience. Familiarity with web content processes, best practices and applicable legal regulations/ADA compliance for online platforms. Rudimentary awareness of markup languages is a plus
- Highly skilled writer and communicator
