B.A. Illinois Wesleyan University

M.Ed. The College of New Jersey
Ed.D. Illinois State University

Kate's educational journey began at Illinois Wesleyan University, where she earned her mathematics degree while competing on the women's national championship basketball team. This dual focus on academics and athletics shaped her understanding of dedication and collaboration that continue to guide her work as an educator.

Following graduation, Kate was selected for the Citizens and Scholars Teaching Fellowship, which brought her to New Jersey for four transformative years in the classroom. This fellowship experience deepened her passion for education and provided her with diverse teaching perspectives that would prove invaluable throughout her career.

Drawn back to her Illinois roots, Kate continued her teaching journey in the El Paso-Gridley school district, where she taught mathematics at both the junior high and high school levels. Her commitment to professional growth led her to pursue and complete her doctoral degree through Illinois State University's Teaching and Learning Program.

Today, Kate channels her diverse classroom experience and expertise into her greatest passion: mentoring the next generation of educators. Her journey uniquely positions her to guide aspiring teachers as they develop the skills, knowledge, and dedication needed to make a lasting impact in education.
