Admission Criteria

International Baccalaureate Correspondence Chart

  • As of Fall 2023 Higher Level International Baccalaureate scores of 4, 5, 6, and 7 will generally receive one course unit of elective credit.
  • IB scores of 5-7 may also earn Shared Curriculum attributes or be equivalent to a 100-level or 200-level IWU course as shown in the chart below. No laboratory credit will be awarded.
  • Credit is not awarded for subjects passed at the subsidiary level.
  • Course electives for IB credit will show as 1TR (Transfer elective) on the IWU academic record. For example, IB Chemistry with a score of 5, 6, or 7 will be listed as CHEM 1TR for 1 unit and earn the PSI Shared Curriculum attribute. An IB Chemistry score of 4 will be shown as ELEC 1TR for 1 unit to indicate elective credit on the student’s IWU academic record.
  • Contact International Baccalaureate to send an official transcript of your scores directly to Illinois Wesleyan.
