Scholarships & Talent Awards

Students planning to major in Acting, Design & Technology or Music Theatre are considered for the Alumni Fine Arts for Theatre Scholarships or the Alumni Fine Arts for Music Scholarships.

Students applying to the Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts program are eligible for talent scholarships in acting, vocal performance, directing, scholarship and creative writing. These scholarships are renewable for four years and are awarded on the basis of a combination of auditions or portfolio evaluations and high school academic performance.

Annual awards of up to $36,000 are renewable for four years provided the student maintains a grade point average of at least 3.0 and continues to contribute to the theatre program in a meaningful way.

The Theatre Technology Scholarship

This scholarship is for students with majors outside the School of Theatre Arts who are interested in continuing with their technical theatre skills and interests. This renewable $1,000 scholarship is awarded based on a competitive portfolio review and interview, according to the needs of the School.

Recipients are required to work on one major production per semester  (total of 60 hours per semester). Awards are renewable for four years as long as the student's GPA is at or above 3.0.

In addition, the university offers work study and need-based grants and loans to qualifying students.
