Theatre Arts Facilities

The School of Theatre Arts is nationally known for the high quality of its productions and for its professional facilities. Four different rehearsal and performance spaces are used regularly.

The McPherson Theatre, where faculty members and guest directors present a varied series of plays, classic and modern, comic and tragic, musical and non-musical, using methods of staging ranging from the traditional to the innovative.
The E. Melba Johnson Kirkpatrick Laboratory Theatre, a flexible performance space, where most plays are student-directed and student-designed, under the supervision of faculty members.
The Dance Studios, where dance concerts choreographed by faculty and students are rehearsed and occasionally performed.

In addition, the Phoenix Theatre is a small space for experimental productions.
