Defensive Football Assistant/Student-Athlete Mentor
Illinois Wesleyan University, a NCAA Division III institution and member of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin, invites applications for a full-time, 10-month position of Defensive Football Assistant (Defensive Secondary or Linebackers). Additional duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director will also include serving in a Strength and Conditioning role and Student-Athlete Mentor/Advisor. A Bachelor’s degree is required, Master's degree and 3-4 years experience coaching at the collegiate level are preferred. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: analyze performance and instruct student-athletes in defensive game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition; observe players individually or in groups and demonstrate defensive secondary or linebacker techniques; assist in all aspects of the football recruiting process; advising for academically at-risk student-athletes. The successful candidate will have excellent skills in using technology to enhance football program operations and recruiting as well as a commitment to understanding and adhering to NCAA/CCIW Rules. Requirements:
- Minimum of three years experience at the collegiate level or high school head coaching preferred
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Valid driver’s license
