Advancement Prospect Researcher



This position directs the activities of prospect research and portfolio management for the Major Gift team.  Reporting the AVP for Advancement-Major Gifts, and working closely with the major gift officers, this person helps inform and accomplish fundraising goals. This is a full time, benefits eligible position. While this position is intended to be on-campus, remote work will be considered.   • Manage the collection, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of philanthropic information regarding University constituents; identify prospects with the potential for major philanthropic giving; utilize resources such as web based searches, contracted screening, and data mining resources; organize electronic records and create spreadsheets and documents for major gift team; create and organize reports for major gifts team requests and assignments
  • Coordinate portfolio management for major gift officers; create and conduct portfolio review sessions for major gift officers; develop analyses and reports on fundraising history and current performance; continue to refine term-based prospect management protocols and strategy development to grow engagement
  • Provide assistance to the AVP for Advancement-Major Gifts in coordinating team meetings; oversee the preparation for and implementation of monthly prospect management (Moves) meetings; assist with the development and articulation of comprehensive strategies for assigned prospects; produce biographical reports and profiles for the President and Cabinet level leadership; organize vendor relationships and contracts related to prospect research tools and services


  • Bachelor’s required
  • Minimum of three years’ experience; preference for experience with advancement prospect research
  • Highly organized, background with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and strong analytical skills
