Interim Associate Director of Health Science
The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Illinois Wesleyan University is accepting applications for the position of Interim Associate Director of Health Sciences. The teaching duties of this appointment constitute a tenure-track position, whereas the administrative role is a staff, non-tenure-track set of responsibilities. This position will begin in the fall semester of the 2022-23 academic year. The contract is a 9-month appointment (August 15 through May 15) with on-call responsibilities continuing through the summer months (May 16 – August 14). The salary is competitive and comes with a strong benefits package. This role complements an expansion of the academic programming provided by the School of Nursing, catalyzing a transition to the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. In collaboration with the Director of the School, the Interim Associate Director will be responsible for oversight of teaching faculty and management and development of the health sciences curriculum. They will assist in the development of the public health major, the integration of the health promotion and fitness major into the School, and the sequential additions of health sciences majors, minors, and certificates. The Interim Associate Director will bring robust assessment and innovative thinking to the expansion of the School, adding appropriate programs that will grow to meet enrollment targets and financial metrics. The Interim Associate Director will teach 2-4 courses per academic year within the School with the option to teach outside of the School, if needed. They will also serve as an advisor to students majoring in academic programs of study in the Health Sciences. The Interim Associate Director will also be involved in representing the School in key campus events such as Rising Titans, Turning Titan, admissions events, and service on University committees, task forces, and the like.
Candidates must hold a terminal degree in a field within the Health Sciences and have at least five years of university-level teaching experience. Administrative experience in higher education is preferred. Applicants will submit:
