Nov. 1, 2017

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— The Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music’s Jazz Combo will present a concert on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Presser Hall’s Westbrook Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

Conducted by Adjunct Instructor in the School of Music, Glenn Wilson, the concert will feature selections from artists including Bill Holman, Eddie Munson, Gus Kahn, Marty Paich, Matt Dennis, Reg Connelly and Shorty Rogers.

Comprised of seven top jazz players in a small-group setting, the Jazz Combo emphasizes improvisation. This year, the group is dedicated to the unique jazz sounds of the Dave Pell Octet, a popular group from the 1950s, known for their creative arrangements of the great American songbook.
