BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Illinois Wesleyan University’s Guitar Ensemble will present a recital on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. at Evelyn Chapel ( 1301 N. Park St., Bloomington). The concert is free and open to the public.
Directed by Adjunct Instructor in the School of Music Mark Anderson, the program will feature Leo Brouwer’s “Berceuse (Cancion de Cuna),” Matt Uelman’s “Tristram,” Blonde Redhead’s “For the Damaged Coda,” Death Cab for Cutie’s “I Will Follow You Into the Dark,” Niccol ò Paganini’s “Caprice No. 24,” Vinicius de Moraes’ “Valsa de Euridice,” Luiz Bonfa’s “Manha de Carnaval (Black Orpheus),” Goonies Never Say Die “Not With a Whimper, But a Bang,” and Rufus Wainwright and William Shakespeare’s “When In Disgrace” and “A Woman’s Face.”
Performers include: Brandon Chopp '19, a history major and Hispanic studies minor, Cassidy Andracki '19, an English and philosophy double major, Nick Liu '20, a classical guitar performance major, Nate Vartivarian '20, an English major and Japanese studies minor, and undecided major Nick Thorne '21.
