Faculty Choreographed Dance Concert

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.—The Illinois Wesleyan University School of Theatre Arts will present the biennial Faculty Choreographed Dance Concert from April 11-15 at 8 p.m. and April 16 at 2 p.m. in the Jerome Mirza Theatre at McPherson Hall.

The concert will feature original choreography from IWU theatre faculty including Jean MacFarland Kerr, Sheri Marley, Maggie Cornyn, and Jessica Riss Waltrip, and from guest choreographer Jessica Deahr ’04. Deahr is currently the artistic director at Chicago Dance Crash, a premier fusion-style contemporary dance company. She has toured throughout the U.S. and internationally as a dancer and aerial artist, and her choreography has been seen across the country in museums, fashion shows, commercial and independent films, musicals, and peer theatre/dance companies.

Illinois Wesleyan students in the company include Adrienne Snider ’18, Eli Miller ’17, Emily Hardesty ’18, Halley Shanley ’18, Holden Ginn ’18, Jace LaGarde ’19, Jackie Salgado ’18, Jenia Head ’17, Jessica McGrew ’19, Juna Shai ’18, Kamilah Lay ’19, Kara Ryan ’19, Kenny Tran ’17, Kristin Solodar ’17, Larisa McCoy ’18, Lucy Howat ’18, Maddie Steele ’19, Nicole De Matteo ’19, Robert Wilson ’19, and Trev Gabel ’17.

Tickets are on sale at the McPherson Theatre Box Office, (309) 556-3232. Tickets are $10 for the Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday shows, and $12 for the Friday and Saturday performances. Wednesday’s performance is free. Tickets for students are $2 with valid ID. 

Box office hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday except for Tuesday, when the box office closes at 4 p.m.
