Students to Present Self-Composed Works in Concert

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Works composed by students at Illinois Wesleyan University will be presented in concert on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. in Presser Hall’s Westbrook Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

The program will include two improvisations and two compositions. Music major Matt Capone '18, will perform his largest composition to date: “Sky Staircase.” Capone will give music an auditory and optical response by synchronizing his live piano performance with an animation that will be projected on a screen behind him. 

The program will also feature a composition and improvisation by Alex Riak '18, a music composition major. Brigid Broderick '19, a music education major and theatre dance minor, Genna Simon '18, a contemporary musicianship major, and Minji Will '19, a music education major, will perform a second improvisation.
