Wind Ensemble to Perform

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University’s Wind Ensemble will present a concert on April 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Bloomington’s Second Presbyterian Church. The concert is free and open to the public, and will include Timothy Broege’s Sinfonia Xvi: Transcendental Vienna, Scott Lindroth’s Spin Cycle, and Bruce Broughton’s Tuba Concerto, featuring Jacob Taitel ’18 on tuba.

The Wind Ensemble performs both contemporary and classical music and is directed by Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Lev Ivanov. He also directs the Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra. He was one of five to receive special recognition at the Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest International Conducting Competition in 2013. He earned a doctorate from Arizona State University.
