Students Taking Star Turns in Oklahoma!

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Several Illinois Wesleyan University students have starring roles
in the Prairie Fire Theatre production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic musical Oklahoma!
John McHugh ’17 plays the lead role of “Curly” and Megan Koch ’17 is “Laurey.” Anna
Karnick ’17 portrays “Ado Annie” and Blake Miller ’18 is “Jud.” In addition to the
actors, Sarah Shelby ’16 is costume designer, LeeAnna Studt ’17 has choreographed
the show, and Rhys Lovell ’95 is stage director.
Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Lev Ivanov is conducting a 13-piece ensemble of Illinois Wesleyan students in the
orchestra, Assistant Professor of Music William Hudson is vocal coach, and Visiting
Professor of Music Robert Mangialardi is the producer of Oklahoma!
Prairie Fire Theatre brings professional musical theatre and light opera to the local
community and has staged three to four musical theatre events each year since incorporating
Oklahoma! will run Aug. 4-7 in Presser Hall’s Westbrook Auditorium. Curtain is 7:30 p.m. Aug.
4-6, with 3 p.m. matinee performances on Aug. 6 and 7. Tickets are $20 for adults,
$15 for seniors and $10 for students with ID, and are available at the door or by
