Jazz Ensemble to Perform Annual Halloween Concert

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.—Treat yourself to a night of jazz at Illinois Wesleyan University’s
popular Jazz Ensemble Halloween Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28. The concert is free and open to
the public, and will take place in the Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall.
Directed by Adjunct Instructor of Music Glenn Wilson, the concert will include selections from the bands of Buddy Rich, Thad Jones, Bob
Mintzer, Woody Herman and Maynard Ferguson. Contemporary arrangements by Wilson and
jazz composer and performer Mike Kamuf will also be featured in the performance. Performers
will be dressed in costume, and concertgoers are invited to come in costume as well.
A costume contest will be held during intermission, with prizes for the best costumes.
The Jazz Ensemble is comprised of interested jazz students from a variety of majors
at Illinois Wesleyan. The group has toured both nationally and internationally, including
tours to Nashville, New York, Italy, the Bahamas and Japan.
