BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Paul Nesper ’04, a tuba performance graduate from Illinois Wesleyan University, will present a guest recital on Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium. Nesper is currently an instructor of tuba and euphonium at the University of Central Oklahoma. He also maintains a private studio of students ranging from grades 7 through 12.
Nesper, a native of Tinley Park, Ill., began playing tuba at age 10. He is a member of the Oklahoma-based Boulevard Brass Quintet and is a founding member of the Frontier Brass Band of Oklahoma.
He has performed with the Tulsa Philharmonic, Norman Philharmonic, New Mexico Symphony, Santa Fe Concert Association and Enid Symphony.
The concert is presented by the Illinois Wesleyan School of Music and is free and open to the public. The event is made possible, in part, by the Anna McGrosso Visiting Artist Fund.
