University Mourns Loss of Alum, Other Crash Victims
April 8, 2015
Illinois Wesleyan President Richard F. Wilson released the following statement today to the campus community:

"We all learned yesterday about the plane crash east of the Central Illinois Regional Airport and the tragic death of all seven passengers who were returning from the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in Indianapolis. As more information has become available, we have been informed that one of the passengers was Jason Jones, a 1991 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan.
"Jason was a senior vice president in the Bloomington offices of Wells Fargo Advisors. A native of Lincoln, Illinois, he graduated from IWU with a degree in business administration, played on our men’s basketball and baseball teams, and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Jason was an enthusiastic and loyal alumnus of the University.
"I know you will want to join me in extending our deepest sympathies to Jason’s wife, Lyndsey, and their two children, Jack and Kate, as well as to all the families who lost loved ones in this terrible accident. This is a very sad time for the University and our community."
